City Theatrical to Show Multiverse at Cine Gear Expo Hollywood 2019

City Theatrical will be demonstrating new technology for the film industry in Booth 155 at Cine Gear Expo at The Studios at Paramount in Hollywood, California on May 31, 2019 and June 1, 2019. Demonstrations will include award-winning Multiverse® wireless DMX/RDM technology, within new “Multiverse Kits” designed exclusively for the film industry.  Each kit includes one Multiverse Transmitter 900MHz/2.4GHz, four Multiverse Node 900MHz/2.4GHz devices, and all accessories necessary to get started with a Multiverse wireless DMX/RDM installation for a medium-sized film project.

City Theatrical will also be introducing QolorFLEX HiQ LED Tape, the newest addition to the line of QolorFLEX® LED tape, dimmer, and accessory products. QolorFLEX HiQ LED Tape was designed to have a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 95, making it an ideal high CRI LED tape for the needs of the film industry. It is available in three types: 3200K , 6000K , and a variable white 2700K to 6500K.  HiQ LED Tape offers exceptional on-camera color rendition and allows lighting professionals to match the light sources already being used on their set.  Like all 40+ high quality types of QolorFLEX LED Tape, QolorFLEX HiQ LED Tape is sold in 5m reels and includes six-inch long pigtails on both ends for easy connections to QolorFLEX Dimmers for ultra-smooth, flicker-free dimming.

Multiverse marks the fifth generation of City Theatrical's engineering development for wireless DMX technology. The Multiverse system can deliver more data while reducing the amount of radio energy required for wireless DMX by as much as 90%, enabling scalability never possible before in the film industry. Breakthrough innovations of Multiverse includes dual band functionality, which allows lighting professionals in the film industry to use the less crowded 900MHz frequency or the 2.4GHz band, for better wireless DMX/RDM performance.

The Multiverse Node offers single universe plug and play simplicity as a transceiver. As a single universe transmitter, it functions in a similar plug and play manner to the SHoW DMX SHoW Baby® but contains two radios (900MHz and 2.4GHz) and a full user interface, with four buttons and a backlit LED display. As a receiver, the Multiverse Node is the primary single universe standalone receiver in the Multiverse system and can be part of a larger multi-universe setup.

The Multiverse Transmitter delivers multiple universe control that opens a new world in wireless DMX/RDM. Its Ethernet input allows it to take in Streaming ACN (sACN) or Art-Net and to transmit up to nine user-selectable universes of DMX/RDM.  The Multiverse Transmitter also has a Bluetooth radio receiver built in that allows it to communicate with the DMXcat® app from the user’s smartphone. This gives the user smartphone control of any lighting fixture that is part of the Multiverse setup, whether it is a lighting fixture with a Multiverse Module inside, a lighting fixture receiving its data from a Multiverse Node or Multiverse SHoW Baby®, or any wired fixture downstream of those devices.

Other live demonstrations by City Theatrical at the show will include troubleshooting with the multi award-winning DMXcatMulti Function Test Tool, and incredibly bright and flexible linear LED lighting with QolorFLEX® NuNeon.
