MELVILLE, NY, August 18, 2010 — VOX Amplification is now shipping the new AGA150, the latest addition to its Acoustic Guitar Amplifier series. Joining the recently launched AGA70, the upscale AGA150 boasts twice the power of the AGA70 (150 Watts vs. 70 Watts); adds an additional tweeter for a more refined high end; and features a compact and efficient power amp, designed in conjunction with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower a/s, to produce a super clean and powerful sound. The VOX AGA150 is designed from the ground up to meet the challenges of today's modern acoustic performer.

Both two-channel amps feature a Normal channel and a Tube Pre channel, complete with a 12AU7 dual triode vacuum tube. Each channel is equipped with a standard guitar input, as well as a microphone input with selectable phantom power. For the singer-instrumentalist, an electro-acoustic guitar or mic can be connected to each channel. An additional Lo-Z / Hi-Z switch on each input accommodates a variety of signal levels.

Working in harmony with the traditional Bass, Middle and Treble EQ controls, the Color knob allows the overall tone to be quickly shifted during performance. A full complement of effects is available on each channel. The Chorus effect is selectable via a switch; Reverb can be added in any amount using the Reverb knob. The Anti-Feedback control minimizes acoustic feedback, allowing the AGA150/AGA70 to be used as an effective stage monitor.

Equipped with a DI (balanced XLR) output, the AGA150/AGA70 offers a convenient way to send the sound to a larger PA system without requiring a direct box. This output is also ideal for recording, using the AGA150/AGA70 as a tube-driven preamplifier. Stereo line inputs can accept the signal from a keyboard or other musical instrument. An MP3 player (or other audio source) can be connected to the AUX input to enjoy a jam session. The Tuner output is always active – even when the main output is muted – for silent tuning between songs and sets. The optional VFS2 provides footswitch control of the Effect Bypass or All Mute functions, offering great flexibility during a live performance.
