So, Whaddaya Think?

As you may have noticed, our website has a new look. Or should I say a new "skin." That's what the kids in the new media department call it. We call it LD2.0. You can call it awesome.

With a renewed focus on blogs and forums, the LD website is moving toward the social networking model gaining so much popularity all over the net. We think that makes sense, given the high degree of interaction we've always enjoyed with our readers; let's face, you guys like to have your opinion heard, and that what we dig about you. Please take a moment to register with the Forums and start asking questions or providing feedback to those with questions. Or take a moment to comment on any of the blog postings that speak to you.

In addition, you'll also be seeing more original content on the site written by our edit staff. It's no secret that a lot of the websites out there are populated by little more than press releases; our goal is to provide additional stories on projects, products, and business news, to give you a little more perspective on the industry.

That's not to say there's anything wrong with press releases; it's a convenient way for companies to spread the word on what they do, as long as it's not the only thing being offered. To that end, we've added a component on the website called The Briefing Room, which allows PR professionals post their releases and images infiltered, whenever they want.

And this is just the beginning for LD2.0; we have some other surprises we hope to be rolling out in the coming months. In the meantime, take a look around and let us know what you think. There's still a few kinks to be worked out--after all, we just replaced over 13,000 pages in a 24-hour period, surely there's a few missteps here and there--but we think it's by far the best site out there, certainly next step in the evolution of the web. And not a bad way for you to get and share information.

And before I go, a quick shout-out to the new media folks who made all this magic happen: Jessica Harris, Lev Radin, Jennie Lee, Tiffany Guidice, Jason Beattie, Alex Morse, and of course, Dr. Dean Muscio. Thanks guys, we owe you! Drinks, I assume...
