The second edition of SLF will transform the city's urban architecture and add light, beauty, and mystery to Sharja's streets and landmarks from February 9th -17th.

ShowTex created an art installation with Nomada, a specialist in the cultural event sector and the SCTDA's exclusive partner to produce, design and operate this year's festivities.

Sharjah Light Festival 2012 will feature a talented group of international and local artists, experts in outdoor special events, designers and image directors using 3D projection and the latest in light technology.

ShowTex dreams of the world as a stage where anything is possible with fabrics. Their Middle East team transformed 18 giant fabric cubes printed with flowers into light totems lining the expansive Golden Mile street promenade. The beautifully landscaped Golden Mile extends from the Central Souk to the Al Noor Masjid. The light sculptures stand 6 meters high and are 2.5 meters in width and depth and display prints that echo the palm trees, towers, and lamps in the city, forming the perfect balance between a natural and urban landscape bathed in luscious light. Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, announced that the spotlight will once again be on the emirate's celebrated landmarks, in addition to Arab and Islamic heritage, from 12 locations across the emirate. New locations and landmarks have been added and new programmes in 3D technology are being used to create a real-life experience.
