Ross Video Introduces Enhanced openGear Frame at IBC 2009

News Release

For Immediate Release

Iroquois, ON, Canada – September 1, 2009 – Ross Video is introducing a new enhanced openGear platform, the DFR-8321 series at IBC 2009.

The new openGear DFR-8321 series offers free Ethernet control for setup and configuration with an optional high end network solution offering an enhanced feature set including DataSafe.

The DFR-8321 offers a full compliment of 20 processing slots with a dedicated 21st slot for remote control and monitoring using the new MFC-8320-N, high end network solution. DataSafe is included as a standard feature with the MFC-8320-N, an invaluable feature that stores all card parameters local to the frame, greatly reducing downtime when hot swapping solutions.

“Our new 21 slot openGear platform with free Ethernet for setup and configuration allows end users to configure complex solutions in a set and forget environment,” said Eric Goodmurphy, Gear Marketing Product Manager. ”This combined with our optional high end controller solution, offering DataSafe, allows end users to select the appropriate level of control for their application.”

The MFC-8320-N, a high end network solution, designed for full control and monitoring applications offers SNMP as an option and has been enhanced to support slot naming in the frame, IP address storage direct to the frame and DataSafe. These features simplify system management by allowing the end user to name and identify solutions in the frame, reduce downtime with auto re-configuration via DataSafe, and simplify IP management when hot swapping network cards.
