Paralympics Closing Ceremonies Lighting

Robert Sondergaard of Electric Aura in Vancouver worked on the Olympics events in Robson Square, Vancouver, as well as the Paralympics, finishing up with the closing ceremonies for the Paralympics on March 21, in an event held at the Whistler Ceremonies Plaza, basically using the rig that Jeff Ravitz used for the medals ceremonies throughout the Olympic Games, with the plot as originally designed by Nathan Wilson.

A new look at Whistler for the closing of the Paralympics

"We only had one evening to change over the venue so to make the site look different, so we took down the large pipe grid over the stage and added a centre video screen," Sondergaard reports. "We also added eight Syncrolite MX-4 to augment the fireworks show that was the finale to the evening."
