OUT OF THE EAST

Perry Celia Perry Celia takes charge of Western sales for QSC

COSTA MESA, CA—QSC VP of Global Sales Greg McLagan has announced that industry veteran Perry Celia has been named as the company's Director of US Sales-Western Region. Now making QSC's Southern California headquarters here in Orange County his home base of operations, Celia comes to the post following a career path marked by stops at JBL, where he served as Director of Eastern Sales; independent rep firm Sound Marketing West, where he was a VP and principal; and Alesis Corporation, where he also wore the title of Director of Eastern Sales.

"I couldn't think of a better time to make this move in my life," Celia said shortly after McLagan broke the news of his appointment. "QSC is clearly positioned at an important crossroads in its history, and it's great to be part of this winning team."

Buoyed by the success of its loudspeaker brands, which include the compact WideLine-10 and WideLine-8 line array systems, as well as its catalog of digital signal processing gear and networked audio components, QSC stands poised to introduce a new series of professional stage monitors at Winter NAMM, and is promising to reveal the next generation of its DSP-based processors sometime within the next 12 months.

"QSC's commitment to excellence and customer service has gained the company a reputation and following you really can't find anywhere else," Celia adds. "At this point in my professional life, everything I've learned and all the connections I've forged are coming together with new vitality and vigor. For some, home is just a place where you go and they have to let you in. Here at QSC, home is where the heart is, and is supported by people trying to make everyone prosper."

Beyond QSC, Celia is also a musician. Patience, an album he completed in 2005 with help from his brother Phil, was recorded, mixed, produced, and mastered at SBR Studios in Thousand Oaks, California. Taking two years to complete, Celia played all instruments on the record and did all the vocals. Every instrument was recorded live on ADAT running through an analog mixer, without the use of any sequencers, drum machines, or digital editing.
