Nexxus Lighting LED Light Fixtures Featured in Fontainebleau® Miami Beach $1 Billion Renovation

Fontainebleau Miami Beach Bleau BarCharlotte, NC – Nexxus Lighting, Inc. (NASDAQ Capital Market: NEXS) recently announced that it has completed an extensive lighting project as part of the iconic Fontainebleau® Miami Beach $1 billion renovation. Nexxus Lighting's LED light fixtures were used to put the “blue” in the Fontainebleau's signature Bleau bar by creating a dynamic effect within the bar's translucent floor. Nexxus Lighting's Fiber Optic solutions were also used to create a back-lit effect on glass panels throughout the hotel's main lobby and entrance.

“From concept to completion, this has been an extremely exciting project to be associated with,” said John Hasson, Sales Manager, Nexxus Lighting. “Nexxus Lighting's LED fixtures and Fiber Optic cable provided the perfect solution for creating an energetic, new age feel while embracing the resort's iconic past.”

Over the course of the two-year renovation, the design team took special care to both preserve and bring to life the 21st century vision of original architect, Morris Lapidus, building a stage for guests and visitors alike.

Fronting the Atlantic Ocean, the new 1,504-room resort's most distinguishing features include two new towers; 11 restaurants and lounges; a 40,000-square-foot spa; and dramatic oceanfront poolscape featuring a free-form pool shaped as a re-interpretation of Lapidus' signature bow-tie design.

In re-envisioning the resort, its owners assembled a team of eight international architects, designers and project managers to infuse the space with a modern sense of style and sophistication. From its public spaces, lobby and highly-stylized restaurants to its guest rooms, spa and pool, the resort will sparkle with an intoxicating mix of old and new.

“The lighting effect created in the floor of the Bleau bar gives you the extraordinary feeling that you're walking on water and allows for a unique interactivity between the patron and the space,” said George Saviolidis, president of GS FiberLite, Inc., who worked with Nexxus Lighting to install the lighting solutions. “This was a unique opportunity to work with Nexxus Lighting and Fontainebleau Miami Beach to develop a dramatic lighting system and to be part of a historical renovation.”
