NEUTRIK® INTRODUCES OPTICALCON QUAD AT LDI 2009

~ Rugged Four-Channel Fiber Optic Connection System for Point-to-Point Cabling ~

ORLANDO, FL, NOVMEBER 20, 2009

– Neutrik introduces opticalCON QUAD, a four-channel version of its well-established solid and ruggedized-protected fiber optic connector system, at LDI 2009 (Booth 737). Designed specifically for multichannel point-to-point cabling applications, Neutrik's opticalCON QUAD is IP65 rated for dust tight and water jet protection. With three variations including 4-channel, 4-channel X-treme and Triple-Split 12-channel assemblies, Neutrik's new opticalCON QUAD provides several fiber solutions for any live event.

“With the introduction of our upgraded opticalCON QUAD, we have fine-tuned our technology to offer the installation market the ultimate in fiber connectivity,” says Pete Milbery, managing director of Neutrik USA. “Our new opticalCON QUAD is ideal for any multi-channel point-to-point application where 4-channels of fiber are needed.”

Neutrik's opticalCON QUAD is available with 4- (NKO4M) or 12-channel (NKO12S) mobile field cables. Its Triple-Split 12-channel cable features three opticalCON-4 connectors on both ends, allowing standardized 4-channel connectivity for multi-channel point-to-point cabling. opticalCON QUAD X-treme is also available for road-ready applications such as mobile and outdoor broadcasts, touring and rental and staging. opticalCON QUAD X-treme offers a cut-proof and rodent resistant double jacket with a glass yarn armored cable construction. opticalCON QUAD's new chassis connector (NO4FDW-R) features a laser protective metal shutter seal with a two-component rubber gasket.

opticalCON increases the reliability and maximizes the uptime for fiber optic connection systems. The system is based on a standard optical LC-Duplex connection; however, the opticalCON improves this original design to ensure a safe and rugged connection. It enables up to four copper wires to run power or data signals through. A special SMPTE-version1 has been optimized for broadcast applications, which provides an additional ground-shell contact.

In order to create a simplified installation, one can connect a conventional LC-Duplex connector on the rear, which causes the chassis connector to act as a “feed-through.” The opticalCON cable connector comes pre-assembled with a choice of three mobile field cables, which can be ordered at almost any length.

The opticalCON also features a rugged connection, all metal housing and heavy-duty cable retention. opticalCON uses conventional LC connectors, which are easy to clean, and has a Push-Pull locking mechanism. In addition, the colored labeling plates are included to identify the fiber mode.

Neutrik manufactures a wide array of XLR connectors and receptacles, jacks and plugs, speaker connectors and accessories for the professional audio industry. Neutrik USA is located at 195 Lehigh Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
