Meyer Sound and Solotech to Sponsor the 33rd Montréal International Jazz Festival

2012_mont_intl_jazz_fest.jpgIn partnership with Solotech, Meyer Sound will be supporting the 33rd edition of the Montréal International Jazz Festival as the Official Sound Reinforcement Sponsor. A world leader in touring and installed sound systems, Meyer Sound will be heard at more than a dozen venues of all sizes, indoors and out, throughout the festival.

"The challenges of our diverse collection of indoor venues and outdoor stages are met by Meyer Sound and Solotech with creativity and a great concern for a superior sound experience," acknowledges André Ménard, artistic director for the festival. "More than mere suppliers, they have become true partners in our adventure!"

Meyer Sound systems will be in place at the premier indoor venues, including the nearly 3,000- seat Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, where MICA line array loudspeakers will anchor a system prepared for headliners including James Taylor, Norah Jones, and Seal. The JM-1P arrayable loudspeakers will be heard at the Place des Arts Théâtre Maisonneuve and the new Maison Symphonique de Montréal, which has recently installed a permanent JM-1P system and is hosting festival concerts for the first time in 2012. A new MINA line array loudspeaker system will debut in the intimate L'Astral cabaret at Maison du Festival Rio Tinto Alcan.

Outdoors, the main stage at Place des Festivals will utilize a powerful complement of MILO line array loudspeakers for main and delay systems, while MICA line arrays are the foundation for the main stage at Promenade Maisonneuve.

Additional Meyer Sound systems are planned for deployment at Place des Arts Théâtre Jean Duceppe, Hyatt Session, Pub Heineken, Le Parterre Blues Stage, Esplanade Clark, and Parc des Festivals.

A longtime partner with Meyer Sound since 1992, Solotech has supplied Meyer Sound loudspeaker systems for entertainment and music icons that include Céline Dion, Michael Bublé, Leonard Cohen, Cirque du Soleil®, and more.

Presented by TD in collaboration with Rio Tinto Alcan, the Montréal International Jazz Festival ranks as one of the world's largest and most esteemed annual musical celebrations. The lineup for 2012, reflecting the cross-pollination of musical inspiration worldwide, includes—in addition to artists noted above—Tangerine Dream, Stanley Clarke, Al Stewart, Philip Catherine, Ziggy Marley, Wayne Shorter, Larry Coryell, and Esperanza Spalding, among many others.
