The Metric Halo LIO-8 is an eight-in AD, ten-out DA FireWire converter with eight channels of AES I/O that supports up to 192 kHz sample rates. Every aspect of the LIO-8, from design to manufacture, is optimized to deliver utterly transparent audio between the domains. LIO-8 users have the option of adding four or eight channels of ULN-R mic pres, either at the time of purchase or later. In addition, LIO-8 users can purchase a +DSP license to unlock a wealth of powerful plug-ins that run on dedicated chips inside the LIO-8 (i.e. without taxing the host computer). All of these add-on upgrades for the LIO-8 are included in the 25%-off promotion. The Metric Halo ULN-8 is exactly the same as the LIO-8, except that it comes with eight ULN-R mic pres and a +DSP license standard.
"We are very proud to have earned this recognition from the TEC Foundation," said Allen Rowand, field operative for Metric Halo. "The LIO-8 was developed in response to feedback we received after releasing the ULN-8. We're gratified to have it win one of the industry's highest honors, as this is confirmation that our efforts have led to something truly extraordinary.
