LED Source® Offers New Coemar Reflection LEDko, World's First LED Hard Edge And Soft Profile Combined

Reflection LEDko FS Soft Profile(Wellington, Fla.)—LED Source®, the exclusive North American distributor for Coemar, announced today the release of LEDko, a revolutionary new LED fixture and the first LED profile delivering both Soft Profile and Hard Edge Profile using mix and match optics. The Reflection LEDko is part of the PLASA 2010 award winning Reflection series and applies Reflection LED technology to the world of lekos.

“At Coemar we take inspiration and direction in part from our own 78 year company history. The new LEDko makes use of that legacy and lengthy history in theatrical lighting. It is designed with patented technology to solve some of today's biggest lighting needs,” said Fausto Orsatti, vice president of Marketing and Sales for Coemar. “Based on a unique and patented multi-LED lighting source producing a uniformed beam with no pixels, dots or multicolored shadows, plus a patented internal shuttering system, LEDko is truly a versatile fixture and the first LED Soft Profile on the market today.”

The Reflection LEDko is available in three “engine” models filling a broad range of applications: LEDko FullSpectrum, LEDko VariWhite 3000-7000K and LEDko White 3200K, the brightest of the three in standard halogen-like white. With the Reflection LEDko series, Coemar has created the first LED profile capable of projecting soft-edged profile light with no reduction in light intensity due to additional filters. It is also the first LED profile that can be used in the same way as traditional profiles and can obtain any color tone, shade and white light.

Applying the Reflection LED technology as a retrofit makes it possible to reduce energy consumption from 500-650 Watts to 150 Watts. The LED lamps last up to 50,000 hours without loss of brightness, thus eliminating maintenance costs associated with traditional profiles.

LEDko fixtures are completely compatible with standard S4 profile lens tubes and accessories, making the product even more versatile.

Because LEDs do not emit heat, LEDko is capable of utilizing images or gobos created with any standard printer and a transparency sheet. This technology allows you to project any image such as a corporate logo quickly and without cost, plus eliminates the entire gobo buying process, which was previously dependant on glass or metal patterns.

“Coemar has created what could very well become a game changer in the entertainment and architectural lighting industries,” says Marcel Fairbairn, president and CEO of LED Source®. “LEDko offers lighting designers, rental companies and even commercial end-users a new tool that was previously not available, and that's very exciting!”

The LEDko FullSpectrum enables smooth color mixing with both RGBW and CMY modes accessible. White light output is adjustable between 3200-9000K. The FullSpectrum also incorporates a built-in library of leading gel filters from all major manufacturers. The VariWhite enables variable white color temperature control from 3000-7000K and the White 3200K offers the highest white light output in the LEDko series. Additionally, the 3200K color temperature closely emulates tungsten light, which is commonly used in theatrical, TV and film studio applications.

The Reflection LEDko is one fixture that can virtually eliminate or significantly reduce all costs related to lamps, dimmers, scrollers, gel filters, heat, cabling, electricity and manpower. All LEDko series fixtures feature electronic 16-bit dimming, flicker-free operation with DMX controllable LED frequency from 500 to 5000 Hz and a bi-directional DMX512.

All Coemar lighting products are exclusively distributed in the U.S. and Canada by LED Source® and sister company, Gear Source®.
