Lady Antebellum Ascends to the Top with Bandit

lady-a.jpg2010 has certainly the year of Lady Antebellum, as they assaulted every chart imaginable with their monster hit “Need You Now”. Lady A, as they are known, has won numerous ACM, CMT, Teen Choice Awards, and CMA Awards including Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Video of the Year, and New Artist of the Year. They have also won 2 Grammys for their song “I Run to You”. They are currently nominated for 7 American Country Awards, 5 American Music Awards and 1 Peoples Choice Award. This phenomenal group is in the absolute stratosphere of the music industry now.

Started in 2006, music executives knew the first time they heard Lady A that this act was something special. So did Bandit Business Development Manager Brent Barrett, as he began working with the artist in the early stages. The unique quality of their music along with an indescribable stage appeal vaulted them into stardom overnight. Lady A had a coveted performance spot on the CMA Awards before their first album was even released! This was no small coupe. To date both albums have gone to # 1 and they have scored 4 # 1 singles, not bad for such a short career!

Manager Gary Borman, tour manger Tim Kreig, tour coordinator Dennis Brennan, production manager Curt Jenkins and lighting designer Carter Fulcham all worked tirelessly with Barrett and Bandit to produce a masterpiece of illumination that captures the beauty of the music of Lady A. The design team was composed of lighting designers Chris Kantrowitz, Martin E. Potoczny and set designer Jim Lenahan. The very theatrical system is a hybrid of traditional fixtures and some new LED product. MAC 700's, VL 3000 Spots, VL 3000 Washes, 8 lights, 2 lights, Atomic Strobes and a single 10K fresnel form the base of the system. This is all highlighted by the new GRNLite Moving Wash 3-120 ands well as GLP Impressions. The GRNLite Moving Wash is the brightest, whitest light of its nature on the market, as it has white LED's in addition to the standard RGB. With a 25-degree beam angle and a blazing intensity, the GRN Moving Wash keeps up with the VL 3000's. Fulcham expertly controls the Grand MA console each night as he delivers perfection as a visual treat!

The show is a veritable musical treat as Lady A flows effortlessly from song to song throughout the evening, as each tune is itself a stunning story told in a style that only Lady A can. The ability of the band to connect with the fans and deliver amazing sounds that prove to be hit after hit is uncanny. Fulcham, former lighting director for Alabama, Kenny Chesney and others, has taken his talents to yet another level as he paints colorful images around Lady A while they sooth the soul of the audience.

After a short four years together Lady A has garnered nearly every award they can and have delivered four smash, # 1 hits. Yet, the band remains challenged, as they know they have much left to accomplish. Bandit is very proud to be part of the Lady A family and looks forward to working with them as they build on their position at the top of the industry and go to new heights only imagined at the moment!
