Knifedge is one of a number of creative agencies commissioned to work on the Tour, working closely alongside Snow Patrol's lighting designer Davy Sherwin.

The staging for the new tour features a striking new look and feel, created by Davy Sherwin, with initial concept input from Knifedge. Inspired by the band's snowflake logo, six floating LED screens hang above the stage, each shaped like single crystals from a snowflake.

Animated graphics and live video footage of both the band and audience members are projected onto these floating ‘pods', which also move in three dimensions to create different atmospheres for individual songs. A giant LED screen behind the stage completes the look.knifedge-animates-snow-patrol-world-tour-low-res.jpg

Jonathan Brigden, managing director of Knifedge, comments:

“This is a huge tour for Snow Patrol, so we're delighted to have played our part in creating such a stunning show, to be enjoyed by fans around the world in coming months.”

Davy Sherwin commented:

“Knifedge worked very closely alongside us to come up with content ideas for four songs. They were given basic colour palates for each song and left to come up with ideas that suited the music. We wanted all visual elements of the show, including i-mag video and lighting, to merge seamlessly together. Knifedge worked closely with us to ensure a lot of the content worked very well with our current 3D style video pods which allowed images to pass from the downstage video pods through to our upstage screen, which is a fantastic look! Knifedge was extremely flexible throughout the design process and the agency has a lot of very good content generators under its wing.”

Knifedge last worked with Snow Patrol when it created animated set visuals for the band's performance at The Children in Need Rocks concert at the MEN Arena, Manchester in November 2011.

Snow Patrol's new World Tour kicked off at the 02 Arena in Dublin on January 20th, and is visiting Aberdeen, Liverpool, Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Sheffield and Bournemouth before arriving at London's O2 Arena on Friday 10th February for three nights. It will then go on to a series of venues throughout Europe and the US. Full details on the Snow Patrol website: www.snowpatrol.com
