J. R. Clancy, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Crooks as the company's Vice President, Sales. Jim starts in his new Syracuse-based position on May 10.
Jim brings more than three decades of industry experience to J. R. Clancy. For the last seventeen years, Jim has worked for a single group of entertainment lighting, dimming and energy management companies. In 1993, Jim joined Portland-based Entertainment Technology (ET) as their Western Regional Manager and Vice President, Marketing. ET was acquired by Stamford based ROSCO Laboratories and later sold to a conglomerate called Genlyte. In 2007, Genlyte was acquired by Philips. Within the Philips Lighting group, Jim has held several positions with Lightolier, Entertainment Technology, Vari-lite and other Philips-owned brands.
Jim's industry experience includes two stints at Minneapolis-based SECOA, first as Sales and Marketing Manager and years later as Vice President, Sales. Early in his career, Jim also worked for California-based Strand Century/Strand Lighting, as well as New York-based Kliegl Brothers Lighting.
