NORTHAMPTON, MA: Rapidly approaching completion of their "dream studio complex," founders of the Institute For Musical Arts (IMA) hosted Walters Storyk Design Group interior designer Beth Walters and architect/acoustician John Storyk at a recent site inspection.
In progress since 2004, IMA's near million $ "Big Barn" conversion into a sophisticated teaching, performing and recording space represents the first world-class recording facility dedicated to training and supporting the work of female musicians and engineers. The 3000 + sq. ft. complex which includes a new 900 sq. ft. WSDG-designed control room/post-production suite (pictured) is on track to "go live" in October, 2009.
"We first met Beth and John in New York at an AES Convention," June Millington recalls. When we described IMA's mission they immediately wanted to get on board. The fact that we can provide our students and Rock 'n Roll Camp for Girls attendees with a recording studio and post production suite created by WSDG is a source of great pride and accomplishment for us. We are delighted with the role they played in helping turn our dream into a reality."
