LÓDZ, POLAND - Harkness Screens, the world's leading manufacturer of projection screens for cinema applications, was selected as the screen supplier of choice for the 17th International Festival of the Art of Film Creators - Plus Camerimage 2009. The Harkness Perlux(r) 180 screen was used to showcase the festival's films in the Grand Theatre presentation venue.

Known as the greatest and most recognized festival dedicated to the art of cinematography and its creators-cinematographers-Plus Camerimage contributes to the growth of cinematographers' prestige. The unconventional format of the festival, which awards films according to their visual, aesthetic and technical values, has turned out to be an alternative to traditional film festivals.

As Andrzej Chrzanowski, project integrator for the event explains, presentation is a major component of this unique event. "Plus Camerimage is a festival with a very high reputation that includes industry experts from all over the world," says Chrzanowski. "During this important and prestigious festival, it is essential that all of the equipment we use is of the highest quality. A screen is one of the key elements of the system for cinema projection and Harkness Screens has again provided an incredible projection surface."

This year, cinematographers of 17 films competed for the Festival's main awards, the Golden, the Silver and the Bronze Frog.

With a seating capacity of 1,070, the Grand Theatre is the second largest opera house in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. For Plus Camerimage 2009, the Grand Theatre featured a 12.20 meter x 5.2 meter Harkness Perlux(r) 180 screen.

The Harkness Perlux(r) screen is considered by leading cinema exhibitors worldwide to be the premier gain projection surface.
