Deep in the heart of NYC's Chelsea Market, lies 5,600 square feet of faux wetlands and several live alligators. Hosted by HISTORY and Louisiana Tourism, a weeklong temporary bayou is giving market-goers a chance to visit a “Swamp in the City” experience in honor of the premiere of extreme outdoorsman show Swamp People. The interactive exhibit will bring scenes of the show to life with up-close guest encounters with six-foot alligators, complimentary Cajun food, Zydeco music, crafts by Creole artisans, and a Louisiana vacation giveaway.

production glue joined CEG, HISTORY, and Louisiana Tourism to create a 12,100 cubic foot exhibit containing over 6,500 gallons of water, 12-foot live cypress trees, over 1,000 live indigenous plants, and a mix of live American Alligators and Red-eared Slider Turtles—all viewable from an above-water dock, and a live “Gator Cam” capturing the action online: www.history.com. The exhibit will feature appearances by Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne, Cajun Chef John Folse, Louisiana State Parks Naturalist Erin Sullivan, Swamp People stars Bruce Mitchell, Trapper Joe, and Chase Landry, and will support lessons on swamp life and conservation for local students.

As Technical Supervisor, glue oversaw installation, staffing, permitting, and coordination with engineers to plan an efficient and safe import of water into the market. production glue was also pleased to provide lighting, audio, and visual support for the duration of the exhibit, which ends on Sunday, February 12th.
