The Lighting Archive has added the paperwork (plot, hook-up chart, focus notes, cue sheet) for Jean Rosenthal's lighting design for
Martha Graham's
Errand Into the Maze from 1948. This is quite an astonishing collection of historical paperwork and a great resource for contemporary designers to have at their fingertips.
The goal of the Lighting Archive website is to develop a collection of actual plots, focus charts, cue sheets from real shows with an emphasis on historical productions and designers who have made important contributions to our field, according to LD Beverly Emmons, who has taken the leading role in getting the archives off the ground. We should all ask Beverly what we can do to help in this noble effort....
