Epic, Dude

So, LDI is now over, and it seems like it was a month ago already. Lots to see on the show floor that I'm sure you've already read about in our Show Daily. Lots of events to attend, and one of note was a designer/programmer dinner put together by Epic Production Technologies, the new company created by the merger of Q1 Production Technologies and Ed & Ted's Excellent Lighting. The editors of Live Design were on the guest list, so we were witness to the very many funny and interesting discussions, among which were politics, fried cheese, motorcycles, and of course, production.

Lighting designer Paul Collison was at my table, and I had a chance to catch up with him again afterwards. "The Epic dinner was a highlight of my LDI week," he said. "The restaurant was beautiful and the food even better. It was nice to meet such a cross-section of well respected people from the industry."

Others at my table included lighting designer Marc Janowitz, Tal Kendra of Lee Filters, Bob Bonniol and Jordan Janesko of Mode Studios, lighting designer Jeff Ravitz of Visual Terrain, and from our own team associate publisher/editorial director David Johnson, and new media guru Dean Muscio.
