Def Leppard Video Clip

Mark Devlin of Mark Devlin Visual Design shared a blog entry and video clip from the Def Leppard tour written by tour video director Jonathan Beswick:

After a successful US and European tour, the band decided to add dates in Japan and Australia as well. To spice things up a bit the band decided to add a new song to the tour, from their "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge" Album. The song was titled simply "GO."

The song speaks to world leader, be they religious, political or community leaders, who preach one thing and live another.

Mark designed the video around the percussions of the song which incorporates a fast drum beat and a slow repeating base sound.

A slow throbbing light glow rises and falls to the rhythm of the base, and synced with the fast drum beat Mark downloaded over 2500 photo from the internet covering topics such as:

President Bush

Kim Jung-il

Iraqi terrorists and religious leaders

Torture at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib

Human rights violations in China

Sexual abuse by Catholic priests

The final imagery was so strong that for the first time the band turned the lights off themselves and simply featured the video.
