Daktronics Rigging To Exhibit New Products At USITT

Daktronics new E Series controller New Hoist and Controller Unveiled

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Mar 3, 2011 – Daktronics will introduce two new rigging products at the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) at its March 10-12, 2011 Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event is the first USITT conference for Daktronics since the recent rebranding of its former Vortek rigging division.

“We're excited to showcase our two new rigging products at this premier conference where attendees will have the opportunity to see and operate the latest technology used in the most advanced automated rigging venues worldwide,” said Rigging Operations Manager Dave Rossi. “We are very happy to continue to better serve our customers with a wider range of product offerings”.

The Banner Hoist

Aimed at malls and retail centers, the Daktronics Banner Hoist provides an effective, smart solution for all advertising needs. Incorporating “Zero-Fleet Angle” technology similar to the larger Vortek hoists, the Banner Hoist is a compact, reliable and true tested platform capable of a variety of applications. With a simple key press from the wireless remote, an operator can easily control the height of advertisements and can conveniently change them without the need for a man lift.

Vortek E-Series Enhanced Control

The E-Series controller is the direct result of customer demand. Providing powerful functionality in a compact, economical form, the E-Series enhanced control system is proof that one does not need to sacrifice performance when working on a budget. Highlights of the new system include user/password account level access, variable speed, acceleration, deceleration and load sensing-displayed in real time. “Our feature-rich controller can also set a virtual upper threshold on the load, dead-man operation, up to four programmable target heights per hoist, relative position indication, help-screen functions, hoist diagnostics capability and more,” Rossi added. “We're excited to introduce this powerful yet simple controller with an intuitive color touch screen interface.”
