Coemar Infinity Wash XL, ACL And ParLite LED Lights Are All Dialed-Up For 311's Unity Tour 2009

311For alternative/funk party-pack 311's latest cross-country mélange, Coemar Infinity Wash XL, ACL and ParLite Led lights blatantly bring the beams to the brim to punch-up a bunch of June/July Unity Tour 2009 dates.

The mega-watt workhorse fixtures are precisely what lighting designer/director Joe Paradise had in mind to embellish the summer spread, of a more mature, refined sound silhouette the likes of platinum-proud 311's chart-topping Volcano/Jive latest, Uplifter.

Paradise notes that this round of dates enlists a bigger supply of the good stuff: "...more lights, a lot more video, and more effects, as well as a Main Light (Soft-LED) 2.5 scrim."

The rig is comprised of 3 arches, "2 horizontals in the air, and 1 on the ground," explains Paradise. A couple of 15 foot towers, mostly silver and toned with Coemar ParLite Leds, flank the stage. A straight black truss is situated downstage.

"We've got 18 Infinity Wash XLs and 10 Infinity ACLs, along with two hazebase base hazers," adds Paradise, "which make for lots of fun and look fantastic."

Coemar's ParLite Led light is the world's #1 truss toner, and is the ideal digital substitute of the analog par can. It offers variable light projection angles via quick lens change (standard: 12 degrees, optional: 30, 13 x 40 and 110 degrees). No fan, no maintenance and no noise, it's a thick aluminum, long lasting light source in a long lasting body.

Coemar's Infinity Wash XL is an extremely bright, automated moving head washlight that incorporates the revolutionary CMY-s color mixing system with new saturation mode (patented), a color wheel with 5 colors + white, and a proportional CTO filter. A radical zoom range (proportional from 5 to 84 degrees), effects (Multicolor, Moon Flower, Beam'o) and beam shaping device (360 degrees indexable) are included. Full-range dimming, synchronized or random strobe effect, electronic zap strobe and black-out are also featured.

Coemar Infinity ACL lights are brighter than a 1200 W fixture, in a 250 W package. They boast a focusable black-light, variable beam size and variable beam control with rotating aerial effects. CMY color mixing, 5 colors + open and CTO filter round the unit out.

Paradise is pleased with this year's 311 lineup, as he likes the "good color and ridiculously high output of the Coemar lights we're using. They're very reliable, and their whole feel is very nice."

Paradise specifies that the Infinity ACLs "really stand out, really look great. The gobos are so nice; the movement is superb." He points out that the beam and color are very consistent from light to light. "And when you're outdoors," he says, "they look like they're shooting into space!"
