Founder and Chairman of the global industry leader Bandit Lites has taken on a new role. As of July 1, Michael T. Strickland assumed the position of Chair of the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. In this role, Strickland is charged with guiding the Chamber, the business community and the city into the future. Strickland will work with community leaders, elected officials and local businesses to shape the best possible future for the greater Knoxville area. This new challenge comes just after Bandit Lites has turned 40 years old. The knowledge and wisdom Strickland has gained over the last 40 years will be put to great use in this new challenge.

“I am honored to have to opportunity to be a servant leader to the local community and will devote myself to provide the direction and leadership needed at this most critical time in the history of Knoxville.” says Strickland. The Vision Statement is simply: Promote, Educate and Grow the Knoxville area.

Over the last few years, Strickland has been involved in many leadership roles, board positions and charity functions, but all are minor in comparison to this commitment. Strickland closed by saying “ I look forward to working with the phenomenal people in the East Tennessee area and taking Knoxville to the next level.”
