Autism Movement Therapy To Hold “Rock For Autism” Benefit At Canyon Club

June 28, 2010, Los Angeles, CA - Joanne Lara, founder and Director of Autism Movement Therapy, Inc., is presenting “Rock For Autism,” a musical benefit for children with special needs. A night of all-star talent will perform live at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills on July 14th from 6-11:30 p.m. The house band for the evening will be The Vibe Tribe, one of L.A.'s leading rock and roll bands, with Jazz Superstar Mindi Abair headlining.

In addition to Mindi Abair, Rock For Autism brings together a lineup of mega-talent including guitar legend and GRAMMY® winner Brad Davis, who has played with Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, David Lee Roth, Billy Bob Thornton, Tommy Shaw and Steve Earle, to name a few. Also performing July 14th will be American Idol's Chris Golightly, as well as The Vibe Tribe ALL STAR Jam Band, who are the talented musicians Arlan Schierbaum, Susan Sheller, Kara Grainger, Lamont Sydnor and J.V. Collier. Rounding out the evening of music is pop sensation Chadwick, and opening will be Dave Beukers, an extraordinary artist with autism.

The master of ceremonies will be Jamie Alcroft, who has been a Tonight Show favorite and produces Headliners Comedy Club in Thousand Oaks.

“Music is the universal language that speaks to everyone, and thanks to the talented musicians tonight and the fans' support, we will be able to truly benefit our children with autism,” says Joanne Lara. “All proceeds from the Rock for Autism benefit concert will help fund a therapy dog for a child with autism, which are $13,000 each.” Lara concludes, “To be able to give back to the special needs children through music is truly a blessing.”
