Yesterday afternoon, AOL invited the industry's top advertising executives and brand marketers to NYC's Highline Stages to witness their latest accomplishment, the AOL On Network. Debuting at this year's AOL Digital Content Newfront 2012, the advanced video hub is home to 14 channels and contains a repertoire of original programming curated by lifestyle industry experts and branded content, including new web series “Digital Justice,” “Fetching,” “Little Women Big Cars,” and “Next Door Hero.”
At the forefront of innovation, the program's first segment split audience members into two groups and invited them to enjoy simultaneous experiences with AOL executives Jim Norton and Janet Balis and a panel discussion moderated by AOL Board of Directors member Jim Stengel and featured Arianna Huffington, President and Editor-in-Chief of the Huffington Post Media Group. The final installment included (among others) keynote speaker Tim Armstrong, Chairman & CEO of AOL, style icon Nina Garcia, Michael Eisner, CEO of Vuguru, and a video appearance by Jennifer Lopez to discuss the network and the latest with AOL On.
The afternoon continued with charitable donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a Ford Mustang convertible giveaway with a dollar for every mile driven over the next 5 years donated by AOL to the charity, as well as cocktails and a set by DJ Solange.
Working closely with team AOL, production glue was entrusted to develop the program's creative concept and execute the layout and design for the unique event. Inspired by theatrical performances and observing AOL's “storytelling” theme, glue transformed three rooms of Highline Stages into a hands-on promenade experience, complete with four plasma screen towers, a nine monitor media ribbon wall, a 60” plasma screen, and video wall stretching across the main presentation hall balcony. Additionally, glue was responsible for overall event production, run of show, stage management, all technical and AV installation, staffing, and permitting for the event.
