Alcorn McBride Brings new Lighting and DMX Control Products to LDI

Alcorn McBride LightCue ProOrlando, Florida -- Alcorn McBride (Booth 464) will introduce two new products for lighting design professionals at LDI.

The new LightCueâ„¢ Pro expands on Alcorn McBride's LightCue product for even the biggest shows, adding a four-universe capacity and customer-requested features such as Ethernet control/update, MIDI control and a real-time clock. Designed to easily operate even the most complex lighting requirements, the LightCue Pro provides simple capture and consistent playback of DMX data. Over 100 hours of playback may be stored on the LightCue Pro. The unit can be operated via front panel push buttons, SMPTE, RS-232, Ethernet or parallel contacts. It can also pile-on up to 40 cues simultaneously. Users can create a schedule to trigger playback using the built-in real-time clock and use the unit's cue management software to examine and edit the recorded DMX data on a PC.

In emergency or maintenance situations, Alcorn McBride's new DMX Overrideâ„¢ allows fast, easy manual control of DMX fixtures. In normal operation it passes through a DMX stream from any console or playback unit. When a remote input or pushbutton is activated, the DMX OverRide immediately overrides the stream with any of three pre-programmed looks. A press of the Resume button or activation of a remote input returns the unit to normal feedthrough operation. The DMX OverRide also protects against DMX dropouts and control system failures, including power outages. In the event of a control system power failure, the unit can keep DMX data active for over one hour using its built-in rechargeable battery.

“Many of our product concepts stem from conversations with customers we see at trade shows, and we are delighted to receive input,” said Jeremy Scheinberg, Alcorn McBride Chief Operating Officer. “We encourage visitors at LDI to bring us their audio, video, lighting and show control ideas.”
