Liverpool, UK based ADLIB's specialist sales division - also a 'certified provider' for L-Acoustics - has sold a Kara PA system, fully flight-cased and complete with LA8 amplifiers, to Newcastle based sound, lighting and AV rental company Nitelites.

The sale comprised 24 x Kara loudspeakers, 8 x SB18 subs, 8 x SB28 subs, the 8 LA8 amplifiers and a full set of ADLIB designed flight cases for the Kara, bumps (flying cradles) and amp racks, plus all the associated rigging and accessories to enable the system to be flown or ground stacked as required.

Using their vast touring experience, ADLIB's flightcases are designed to house 3 Kara speakers each - so 8 cases in total, and 2 bumps per case, making a neat and expedient truck pack.

Nitelites is a well established and leading North East rental operation, and the deal cements a long standing and very positive relationship between the two companies. This has developed in particular over the last 7 years and seen healthy cross rental traffic in equipment as well as the exchange of resources and knowledge.

The Kara deal was co-ordinated by Nick Turner for ADLIB Sales and Jamie Moore and Andy Magee, both directors of Nitelites.

Nitelites wanted a top quality system that sounded fantastic, looked great, was user friendly and easy to rig, and that was also a premium brand to satisfy and be acceptable for any rider specification.

They also required a flexible PA solution ideal for a diversity of applications, live events and different environments - from corporates to rock 'n' roll, theatre productions and classical spectaculars. Their regular work includes supplying sound to numerous concert hall venue gigs of around 2500 capacity, for which the system is perfect.

Apart from that and the "excellent" package that ADLIB were able to offer including great after sales service and cross rental opportunities, as an investment, their research revealed that out of all the leading brands, L-Acoustics would yield the quickest, best and most efficient returns for their outlay.

The new Nitelites Kara system went straight out on its first gig 2 days after it was delivered from ADLIB, and its first full-on tour is the UK leg of chart-topping Australian children's band phenomenon, The Wiggles.

Jamie Moore explains, "We have enjoyed collaborating with ADLIB for some time and as they became one of the largest L-Acoustics rental houses in the UK, it made sense for us to buy into the brand".

He adds that the service, support and back-up from ADLIB is always "Brilliant" along with the sense of humour!

Moore & Magee underwent a basic training and instruction on the system from ADLIB's George Puttock due to the timescale between delivery and the first show being so tight, and have since also undergone the full L-Acoustics induction in France.

They already also have several other shows and events confirmed for the summer where their new system will be used and supplemented with additional L-Acoustics kit from ADLIB, including the Mouth of the Tyne Festival in Newcastle and a classical spectacular for 20,000 people, set in picturesque Glamis Castle in Perthshire, Scotland.
