Winter Park, FL – November 6, 2009 - Absolute Sound, an installer of high-end electronics and home integration systems, is celebrating their 30th anniversary with Orlando's first-ever demo of a 3D projection system. The company will host Digital Projection International from 10 am – 6 pm on November 12 for a full-blown demonstration of the most cutting edge technology in home cinema today. The event is open to the public. Members of the media are invited to schedule a private demo anytime on November 11, and are also welcome to attend the open session on the following day.

DPI will showcase their TITAN 1080p Dual 3D projector, a $90,000 product, paired with a 12.5' wide screen and full acoustic system. The TITAN 3D was recently recognized with a Best New Product award in the CEDIA 2009 Manufacturers' Excellence award ceremony. It is also the most efficient Active-3D enabled projector in its class and was the only projector recognized by CEDIA.

“Usually we see technology that is evolutionary, but this is revolutionary,” says Charles O'Meara, president of Absolute Sound. “Hollywood is focusing production efforts on 3D content, and we're excited to be the first company in Orlando to preview the 3D experience that will be possible in the home very soon.”

The TITAN 3D projector is an Active 3D Stereo Visualization system, relying on one high frame rate-capable projector. The 3D image can be displayed on nearly any kind of front or rear projection screen surface, including matte white surfaces. As opposed to a Passive Stereo Visualization, the Active system works by interleaving the left and right eye images in rapid succession. The glasses you watch the image with are LCD shutters that alternate between opaque and transparent, allowing the user to see only one image at a time, through the left or right eye.

George Walter, vice president of Digital Projection International, says, “Live demonstrations of 3D technology are very rare right now. Trade show attendees have been lucky enough to see this in person, and now Orlando tech lovers will have the opportunity to try it out for themselves. We're lucky to have a partner like Absolute Sound whose showroom is the perfect venue for an event like this.”
