4Wall DC Provides Lighting for Army Entertainment's “Operation Rising Star”

4Wall DC Provides Lighting for Army Entertainment Fort Sam Houston, TX- 4Wall DC recently supplied lighting for “Operation Rising Star”, a talent competition airing on the Pentagon channel to troops stationed around the world.

“Operation Rising Star” is the Army's answer to American Idol. The show provides US service men and women a unique opportunity to reach their dreams of becoming a recording artist.

Army Entertainment, which produces the show as well as a wealth of other Armed Forces programming, relocated this year to Texas and a new training facility. “Operation Rising Star” was the first production to take place in the renovated Fort Sam Houston Theatre. To ensure the success of the “operation”, Technical Director Stephen Smith turned to 4Wall DC for lighting gear.

“Without 4Wall's help, the show would not have been the success it was. The ColorBlaze 48 LEDs and the Versa Tubes worked well on the set. Without them the image designed would not have been completed,” said Smith.

4Wall's full package for the show included Color Kinetics ColorBlaze and ColorBlast LEDs, as well as Element Labs Versa Tube fixtures, controllers, and more.

“Operation Rising Star” aired in December on the Pentagon Channel and crowned its winner, Sgt. Melissa Neal, on December 17th.
