Barco and PRG have joined A.C.T Lighting, coolux, Enttec, Gerriets International, Green Hippo, MA Lighting, and TMB as corporate sponsors for the Live Design Projection Master Classes, which run November 18 and 19 at LDI2009.

All of the corporate sponsors add a technical edge to the classes, with Barco providing their HD20 projectors and PRG providing Sanyo PLC-XF45 10K units. The projectors will be put through their paces including demos of front and rear projection on four different surfaces each, provided by Gerriets International. “The idea is to have one screen with four different surfaces all with the same projected image,” says Nick Pagliante of Gerriets. “This is a great tool to have when deciding how different surfaces impact the brightness, contrast and image quality of the projected image.”

Creative consultant Bob Bonniol, principal designer of Mode Studios, once again heads up the Live Design Projection Master Classes at LDI, leading two days of intensive projection design and technology sessions. Case studies include U2’s recent 360° tour, while Robb Pope and Geneva Sanborn-Janalik of Dijjital Ambiance with discuss Sculptural Projection, and real time video linked to performance. A session entitled “Choosing Hardware, Software, and Surfaces” features Nick Pagliante of Gerriets International, Steve Gilbard of coolux, Nigel Sadler of Green Hippo, René Berhorst and Ollie Olma from MA Lighting.

Register before November 9 for the Live Design Projection Master Classes and save $100. Alumni of the Broadway Projection Master Classes in NYC in 2008 and 2009 can enjoy an additional savings of 20%. Focus on the PMC@LDI and sharpen your focus on projection design and technology.
