A Subterraneous, Bronze Age Cinematic Experience

Housed in a specially blasted 1,000-cubic-meter cavern of natural Dachstein limestone bedrock of the Hallstatt Mountain Salt Mines in Austria is the Bronze Age Cinema—a multimedia experience 400 meters underground. The installation is centered around Europe's oldest wooden staircase, which Vienna's Natural History Museum spent ten years restoring. Scenomedia was called in to create the eight-minute cinematic experience that details the history of the ancient staircase.
