Holo-Walls Goes To The Oscars

Sequoia Productions, producers of the official Oscar® party, The Governor’s Ball for the 2006 Academy Awards, chose the new Holo-Floor2 One-Time-Use Floor Film by Holo-Walls as the official dance floor.

The Governor’s Ball, which was held following the awards ceremonies at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on March 5, featured a 16’ wide by 45’ long dance floor with the company’s Holo-Sheen holographic film pattern.

“It was an honor to be part of this fantastic event,” says Kevin McCarthy, president of Holo-Walls. “The producers looked at a variety of different dance floor systems and narrowed it down to a few. When members of the Academy looked at their choices for a dance floor, they immediately gave a green light for our new Holo-Floor and we couldn’t be more pleased.”

The Holo-Sheen pattern with a light tack removable adhesive was installed on more than 70 3’ square portable dance floor tiles and assembled on site. The film created the illusion of the floor appearing to drop down 10’ when standing on it. “The entire experience from conception to completion was nothing but wonderful,” says Cheryl Cecchetto, president of Sequoia Productions, “and it was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with such a talented team.”
