— Project Channel, a streamlined version of Aphex®’s acclaimed Channel processor, features the essential elements needed for great sound —

BURBANK, CA, April 24, 2013 — Aphex®, a leader in professional audio technology for more than 35 years, recently brought to market the Project Channel, a channel strip loaded with Aphex’s award-winning patented audio processing technology. With the trend of more and more studios forgoing mixing consoles in favor of recording and mixing within computer, a clean and versatile front-end input stage is indispensible. The Aphex Project Channel, a streamlined version of Aphex’s acclaimed Channel processor, has all the essential processing users need for recording, voice-overs, house of worship and other applications: an Aphex Class A microphone preamp, Aphex’s optical compressor, Aphex’s signature Aural Exciter® processor and Big Bottom® low-frequency processor; ¼” instrument input; and LED metering, all on the front panel. The rear panel includes: XLR mic input; XLR analog output; quarter-inch analog output; and S/PDIF RCA output. The Aphex Project Channel incorporates all of these powerful features into a single-rack-space unit at a very affordable price point.

The intuitive Project Channel is a professional quality channel strip, designed with ease of use in mind. The front panel is streamlined and very approachable. The included optical compressor features a single-knob ratio control. Using this one knob and the 10-segment gain reduction meter, it’s easy to keep the dynamic range of the signal under control. The Aural Exciter brings the essence of an instrument or voice out to the front making it easy to hear in a mix. The Big Bottom processor adds punch to the low end in a way that no EQ can. The S/PDIF digital output and dBFS output meter make it really easy to get a proper digital signal to an audio interface for recording. The front panel sample rate button allows quick selection of sample rates from 44.1kHz to 96kHz. Analog outputs are also provided for use with outboard A/D converters or use with analog mixers. The front panel instrument input allows for great sounding direct recordings of bass and guitar. This input automatically overrides the rear panel XLR mic input, allowing the user to keep a mic plugged in.
