U2's i+e Performance In Denver

Courtesy of Stufish.

Irish rock band U2 has embarked on its iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour, with creative direction by Willie Williams, set design by Es Devlin and Ric Lipson of Stufish. The concert features two parts, broken up by an intermission. The concert begins with a single light bulb, reminiscent of the room in which Bono taught himself to play guitar. The triple platform stage consists of an "I", an "E", and a walkway that turns into a barrier in the middle of the concert, reflecting upon the overall narrative of the music. For the second and final half, the divide comes down, symbolizing the unity and hope held within the remaining songs. Watch U2 perform outside and inside the screen on stage in Denver on June 7 in the these videos below.
