USITT Ideal Theatre Student Design Competition 2010

For the fourth year, university architectural and theatre students are invited to take part in the United States Institute for Theatre and Technology’s (USITT) Ideal Theatre Student Design Competition. This competition has established itself as the only international design competition that brings together the client and the designer to explore the possibilities of what a theatre can be.

The competition runs from September 4, 2009 to January 19, 2010. A professional jury will select three Honor Awards in February 2010. The Honor Award winning teams will be invited to the 2010 USITT Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, from March 31 to April 3, 2010 to present to the Architectural Commission.

All submissions will be on exhibit at the USITT Conference. In 2009, teams from Poland, Iran, and Spain received Honor Awards. For additional information on the 2010 competition please contact Scott F. Georgeson, AIA or visit the USITT architecture commission page.
