Tracking Crime And Punishment On A Projected Set

Crime And Punishment, a rock opera based upon Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s novel, debuted at Moscow Musical Theatre this March, directed by Russian-American filmmaker, Andrei Konchalovsky, who collaborated with composer Eduard Artemyev to create a new production from an opera that had been written 35 years previously, according to Russkiy Mir Foundation. The latest production features custom stage elements, which Polymedia designed for visual projections. Eight large-format video projectors cast the scenery onto the entire stage. The moving scenery is tracked by BlackTrax realtime motion tracking system, integrated with d3 Technologies d3 4x4pro with Quad-DVI video format conversion cards.
