Tony Forman Joins Theatre Projects

Theatre Projects Consultants, Inc. (TPC) is pleased to welcome Tony Forman as their newest project manager in TPC’s US office.

Forman has over 25 years of experience working in international, regional, and collegiate theatre. His responsibilities at TPC include project management, programming, theatre planning, and advice on both facility management and operations.

“I am excited to apply my accumulated experience in production, administration, and community cultural organizing to the work of TPC. Building or renovating a performance space has always been a keen interest of mine, and I now feel well suited to this unique endeavor. I am thrilled to be part of the team,” Forman comments.

Forman’s diverse background brings a wide variety of skills to Theatre Projects. Most recently, he served as the executive director for the Cultural Alliance of Greater Milwaukee, establishing a start-up organization. Created to foster collaborative activity and to strengthen the cultural sector in the seven-county metropolitan area, the Cultural Alliance conducts advocacy, fundraising, marketing, and research for the cultural industry.

Forman had his first encounter with Theatre Projects when he was the managing director of the Madison Repertory Theatre. He recalls, “As managing director of Madison Repertory Theatre I was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in the design of the Playhouse in the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, Wisconsin. In the course of that project I worked closely with TPC and greatly respected the work they did on such a large project.”

As the general manager for the California Institute of the Arts, Theatre School (Valencia, CA), Tony reorganized curricula for both graduate and undergraduate production programs. In addition to recruiting nationally known faculty and staff, he worked directly with the students while teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in producing, production management, and technical theatre.

Forman also brings past experience as the production manager for both the Great Lakes Theatre Festival (Cleveland) and the Goodspeed Opera House (E.Haddam, CT), and as the assistant technical director for the New York City Opera.
