A new stage show, Frozen–Live At The Hyperion, opens today at The Hyperion Theatre at Disney California Adventure Park. Based on Disney’s blockbuster movie, Frozen, the stage show puts Anna and Elsa in a high-tech environment, with state-of-the-art projections and motion capture technology. Disney team members collaborated with award-winning video and projection designer Aaron Rhyne (A Gentleman’s Guide To Love And Murder; Tangled: The Musical) to produce projection effects that open up the world of the story, propel the action forward, and blend seamlessly with physical sets, and, in some cases, the performers themselves. Take a quick look as Rhyne explains some of what is going on technology-wise at Frozen–Live At The Hyperion. Check out videos on the set design and technical direction.
