A New Take On Little Red Riding Hood

A darker version of a favorite kids' story as reimagined by French director Joël Pommerat.

Everyone knows the story of Little Red Riding Hood, but French director Joël Pommerat has created a new take on an old tale. A narrator unravels the thread of the plot in a magical retelling of the story with just two other actors playing two roles each. This production has been seen in France, on tour, and recently at the TILT Kids Festival at the French Institute Alliance Française in New York City. Set in modern times, the little girl feels neglected by her over-busy mother and on her way to her grandmother's finds herself talking to the big bad wolf.
