The MacArthur Foundation, which supports creative people and effective institutions committed to a more just and peaceful world, awards fellowships every year to talented individuals who exhibit extraordinary originality and dedication in their field. Among the 24 members of the 2015 class of MacArthur Fellows are scenic designer Mimi Lien, who recently designed Preludes at the LCT3 at Lincoln Center Theater as well as Soho Rep's An Octoroon at Theatre For A New Audience; puppetry artist and director Basil Twist whose credits include The Rite Of Spring and his best-known work Symphonie Fantastique; playwright, composer, and performer Lin-Manuel Miranda, the mastermind and protagonist of the groundbreaking Broadway musical, Hamilton; and tap dancer and choreographer Michelle Dorrance, a member of Broadway Dance Center since 2002 and founder of Dorrance Dance/New York.
