Amsterdam’s historic Royal Carré Theatre recently served as the host site for a three-day television broadcast event known as Ivo Niehe–De Finale. Emceed by renowned Dutch TV star Ivo Niehe, the shows featured a diverse lineup of international artists, including Lionel Richie, Take That, Lucie Silvas, and Katie Melua, among others.
For the production, the venue’s existing permanently-installed L-Acoustics dV-DOSC center cluster was augmented by a left/right system comprised of 18 Kudo™ enclosures, four SB218 subs, LA 48a amplification, and Lake Contour Pro26D processing supplied by Dutch rental company Rider.
Certified V-DOSC Engineer (CVE) Paul Van Baasbank comments, “I was involved in the original dV-DOSC installation project and worked with the L-Acoustics distributor, Sennheiser Netherlands, and installer, Session Sound, so I am quite familiar with the acoustics of the Carré Theatre. The addition of the Kudo arrays added an extra dimension to the live audio and the guest engineers were extremely pleased with the clean, precise, and powerful sound during the shows.”
