Broadway Projection Master Classes

The Broadway Projection Master Classes were held today at NYU Tisch, with support from sponsors including ENTTEC, Frost Productions, TMB, VER, and WorldStage and with Zachary Borovay as creative consultant.

Zachary Borovay and Jeff Sugg kick off the BPMC with their joint session Focus on Broadway Projection Design: Evita, Magic Bird, Lombardi, and other recent shows.

Sven Ortel gets ready for his session on Image Mapping and Scenic Tracking in Theater, with a focus on Newsies.

Projection Products of the Year were presented during the sessions to (l to r) Sean Hoey of Christie Digital for the YK200, Andrew Beaudet of Barco for ImagePro 3G, Chika Iijima of GarageCUBE for MadMapper, and Marc van Eeckern of Advantage LED Solutions for the 5mm LED Panel.

Zachary Borovay, Jeff Sugg, and Sven Ortel start the afternoon sessions with a discussion on content.

Borovay and Peter Nigrini present a look at how projection designers translate musical ideas into visual ones.
