The Super Bowl LI Pepsi Halftime Show featuring Lady Gaga just wrapped, so check out the incredible work of co-production designers Bruce Rodgers of Tribe Inc. and LeRoy Bennett, and lighting designer Bob Barnhart of 22 Degrees.
"There are so many amazing people involved in Halftime that contribute to the creation of this 12-minute show," says Rodgers. "Beyond the look of the spectacle, we have the behind-the-scenes aspects that cover the minutia of details and care and feeding of the massive production. Without each person on the production team and without the family atmosphere that [producer] Ricky Kirshner has created, we wouldn’t be able to present what people have come to expect from a Super Bowl Halftime Show performance."

All Access Staging & Productions created the Halftime Show and pregame set as well as staging fabrication. Glow Motion Technologies created the on-field cast LED batons. Lighting was supplied by PRG, with LED systems from VER and sound by ATK. Pyro and effects were designed and implemented by Strictly FX. "Musically, we have the world-class production that Gaga is known for, and it became important to mesh her world with our world to bring it to life for the 100 million-plus audience," continues Rodgers. "This year, Roy and I decided early on that we both wanted to combine our efforts and go for something meaningful visually. We both had things to say through design, and we meshed our ideas together to make it a reality. In every aspect, we combined our ideas with lighting designer Bob Barnhart and effects designer Mark Grega [of Strictly FX] to make what I consider the most intense technological and visually impactful epic possible, with an eye to giving our staging team a chance to get it on and off the field in time for the game."Click to enlarge.

"For the TV audience, Hamish Hamilton and his merry band of camera men and women managed, yet again, to bring the show to the TV audience in new and cinematic ways," says Rodgers. "Our field cast, led by KP Terry and her team, combined with Glow Motion LED batons, have created the first 3D moving-pixel show. All our field cast and staging experts, technicians and vendors have stepped up to support the vision, and Gaga herself, having embraced the concept early on, has taken on the task with more interest and heart than any other artist that I’ve worked with in the last 11 years."
