Xtreme Structures And Fabrication Welcomes New President

Xtreme Structures & Fabrication (XSF) is pleased to announce that Michael Wells has assumed the position of president of the company in an ownership capacity.

Jacky Hawthorne, former president and owner will stay involved in the company with design and sales support. Matt Panther will remain vice president as head of production, and Tim Kruse will continue his role as general manager.

Wells brings with him many more options to aid in the continued growth of XSF in the theatrical and entertainment industry. He also brings several years of hands-on experience to compliment the existing success XSF has had now for the past four years. His experience as an engineer as well as in fabrication and manufacturing allows Xtreme Structures to cater to the special needs and creative designs of clients.

Wells comes to XSF from Parkhill, Smith & Cooper (PSC) and has provided engineering and manufacturing consultation services for the entertainment industry for 13 years. His career began in college while working as part of local crew in Lubbock, TX where he graduated from Texas Tech University in 1994 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis on structural analysis. Following graduation he moved to Midland, TX to work as a structural engineer for PSC where he also provided engineering services for local truss manufacturer Tomcat. The engineering relationships with Tomcat eventually lead to employment as head of design at Tomcat in the role of engineering manager. While there he also instructed the Truss Workshop portion of Tomcat's annual Hoist & Rigging Workshop in the USA, UK, and Hong Kong. In 1999 Mr. Wells returned to private consulting for the entertainment industry at PSC. His resume includes engineering and design for Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, U2, Disney Live, Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circuses, and Disney on Ice.
