Medialon Drives Skoda Booth At Mondial De L’automobile, Paris

Medialon Manager was the show-control system driving the Skoda booth at the Mondial de l’Automobile (Paris Motor Show), one of the most popular auto shows in the West, held at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles last fall. More than 100 years old, Skoda is the leading automaker in the Czech Republic.

Medialon provided Windows-based show control of six Pioneer 7300 DVD players and two frame-synchronized DoReMi hard-disk players at the Skoda booth. Integration was provided by Creative Technology (CT) in Germany.

At the heart of the Skoda booth was a high-resolution Barco iLite 6 XP LED screen. Over a total width of more than 15 meters, the 20-square meter LED surface with several narrow stripes on the right and left sides was installed in a special curved construction about 3.60 meters above the floor.

Sources for the LED screen were customer-supplied videos displayed via the DoReMis. Additionally, 61-inch plasma displays, fed by the DVD players, were installed at the booth. Content included a number of image and informational pieces on the new model.

Integrator CT is one of the leading international, full-service providers of rental equipment and installers of audio-visual media technology for exhibitions, conferences, events, shows, and TV. The company has offices in Europe and the US. Albert Rall was CT’s onsite technician for the Skoda booth.

"I love working with Medialon," comments freelance programmer Albert Rall. "I've been using the control system since 2002 and have worked on many shows all over the world including large automotive shows for Audi, BMW, Porsche, and Mini Cooper. The system is very flexible allowing for the control of any hardware, it's very hands-on, you can program fast and the support from Medialon is phenomenal. It's by far the best product on the market."
