LMG Supports Christening Of New York

LMG, Inc.provided technology support for the Christening of New York (LPD 21), a naval amphibious dock ship in Avondale, Louisiana. LMG was brought into the project by P.W. Feats, a national event management and production firm, which was charged with designing, producing, and managing the events surrounding the historic Christening. The New York’s bow was forged with seven and a half tons of steel recovered from the World Trade Center. The ceremony included thousands of attendees, including 9/11 first responders and family members of those who died in the attacks, as Mrs. Dotty England, ship sponsor and wife of Deputy Secretary of Defense, Gordon England, christened the amphibious vessel.

LMG provided video, audio, and lighting support for the ceremony, including high-definition support. LMG’s high-definition flypack system, which includes the Snell & Wilcox Kahuna switcher, was used to output to two 12 x 21 outdoor LED walls that supported the speaker presentations. In addition, LMG provided the digital audio system, playback, wireless communications, microphones, speakers, lighting control, ColorBlast LED fixtures, and truss.

“We feel honored to have been part of such an event and to be able to support it with the most innovative technology in our inventory,” says Les Goldberg, CEO/president of LMG, Inc.
