Impact Video Slam Dunks At The 2008 NCAA Championships

NCAA basketball fans didn’t miss a minute of live action with four-sided Daktronics ProTour® LED screens at this year’s 2008 NCAA Mid-West Regional Championships in Detroit, MI.

Ford Field contracted with Daktronics’ rental partner, Impact Video, to provide four ProTour® video screens, each measuring approximately 12 feet tall by 16 feet wide in a 13 millimeter resolution. The screens were installed as a four-sided, center hung video board as Ford Field was transformed into the world’s largest temporary indoor basketball venue. The LED displays were flown high above Center Court and gave the 57,563 fans in attendance spectacular views as #1 seeded Kansas took the Regional Championship with a 59-57 victory over Davidson on Sunday.

"As always the displays performed flawlessly and the unparalleled image quality of the displays continues to wow sports fans across North America. No other product currently offers the pixel uniformity and depth of color provided by ProTour displays," says Jeffrey Isenberg, VP of sales and marketing for Impact Video. "Daktronics’ ProTour video boards encompass the finest overall package. The quality of the lightweight displays posses unlimited flexibility,” he adds. This marks the second time Impact Video has utilized ProTour displays for temporary, four-sided video boards for basketball applications including the 2007 NBA All Star Game at UNLV’s Thomas and Mack Center.
