Impact Video Scores With The NBA All-Star Saturday

Impact Video’s LED Screens helped to usher in a constellation of basketball stars at the 2006 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge, 2006 NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by AOL, and the 2006 NBA All-Star Game. The events, held February 17th through the 19th at the Toyota Center in Houston, offered fans the opportunity to get close to basketball greats like Lebron James, Yao Ming, Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant and more.

Opening ceremonies at Friday’s T-Mobile Rookie Challenge featured a stage to the right of the basketball court. Two Barco Ilite 8mm LED ‘portrait’ screens, each measuring 8.82'h x 5.88'w, were prominently featured at the rear of both stage right and stage left to play show logos, team logos, and graphics. Barco 8mm tiles were specifically chosen due to their outstanding image quality delivered by the high contrast ratio and level ll uniformity of the LED tiles.

Saturday’s 2006 NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by AOL also featured the two portrait screens along with Barco MiPix LED Modules. The 1,815 Barco MiPix modules, used primarily to display sponsor logos, provided a spectacular three-dimensional center screen measuring 8.82'h x 14.7'w.

The 2006 NBA All-Star Game, held on Sunday February 19, 2006, not only used the ‘portrait’ and MiPix screens, but also boasted an additional Barco Ilite 6XP 6mm LED ‘Banner Wall’ LED Screen measuring 4.41'h x 19.11'w. The additional screen ascended up through the floor, providing a stunning reveal for the introduction of the All-Star players as well as half time performances by celebrities such as American Idol’s Carrie Underwood, and John Legend.
