Active Production Goes Fishing At Georgia Aquarium

Active Production and Design Inc., the full-service audio visual company, was named the in-house AV company for the all new Georgia Aquarium, which opened to the public on November 23, 2005. Active Production and Design Inc. was contracted by the Georgia Aquarium to design, install, operate, and maintain all internal audio/visual services needed.

“We are thrilled and honored that the Georgia Aquarium chose Active Production for its AV needs and to be a part of this historic event in Georgia’s history,” says Matt Clouser, president of Active.

The Georgia Aquarium is designed to be “the world’s most engaging aquarium experience.” The aquarium will offer unique settings and ideal environments for a variety of groups from 50 to 10,000-plus guests. The development of the Georgia Aquarium, said to the largest in the world, is due largely in part to the gift of 200 million dollars to the state of Georgia, from Bernie Marcus, founder of Home Depot.

On November 19th-22nd, Active Production and Design Inc. used digital lighting, video, special effects, and other production elements for the aquarium’s opening events, which included a ribbon cutting ceremony, a sponsors’ dinner, and the “Big Splash” event for 2,200 guests hosted by Marcus.
